About Physiotherapy in Milsons Point, North Sydney
How AJ Works
AJ’s approach begins with listening carefully to your story and assessing more than just the area that hurts – Pain and recurring injuries are often influenced by the way different parts of the body move together, as well as previous injuries, surgery, posture, activity levels, stress and long-held movement habits.
Treatment usually combines hands-on physiotherapy with movement retraining and a targeted exercise program. When appropriate, AJ may also incorporate elements of yoga therapy, breathing and body awareness to reduce unnecessary tension, improve movement quality and help your body feel safer and more confident in movement.
The immediate aim is to ease pain and stiffness and help you move more comfortably. Just as importantly, AJ looks for the factors that may be contributing to the problem or causing it to return. You will work together to develop a practical plan that supports lasting change, builds strength and confidence, and helps you return to the activities that matter to you.
This approach can be particularly helpful if you have accumulated injuries over many years, are recovering from surgery, keep getting hurt when you try to exercise, or have reached a stage of life when you want to rebuild your fitness and look after your body properly.
AJ is an APA Titled Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist and a Member of the Australian College of Physiotherapists, with more than 30 years of clinical experience. Earlier in her career, she worked with the Australian Freestyle Ski Team on the World Cup circuit. Her own experience of knee surgeries and a knee replacement has also given her a personal understanding of the challenges involved in staying active as the body changes.
AJ’s goal is not simply to give you exercises or provide a temporary treatment. It is to help you better understand your body, move with greater ease and develop the confidence to manage your health and remain active over the long term.

Meet A-J
AJ is an APA Titled Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist, Yoga Therapist and movement educator with more than 30 years of clinical experience. Earlier in her career, she worked with the Australian Freestyle Ski Team on the World Cup circuit and spent several years as physiotherapist for Mosman Rugby Club. She has also worked in gym settings and treated people across a wide range of sporting, orthopaedic and complex musculoskeletal conditions.
AJ has a particular interest in helping people whose bodies carry the effects of old injuries, surgery, stress or trauma. Her approach recognises that recovery can require more than strengthening alone. Treatment may include hands-on physiotherapy, movement retraining, graded exercise, breathing and body awareness to help reduce physical guarding and restore confidence in movement.
Having personally navigated several knee surgeries and a knee replacement while continuing to enjoy walking, yoga, skiing and the gym, AJ understands the challenges of remaining active as the body changes. She especially enjoys helping people approaching or in retirement who want to rebuild their health and fitness but find that accumulated injuries, pain or repeated setbacks keep getting in the way. Her goal is to develop a realistic, comprehensive pathway that helps each person move more comfortably, become stronger and return to the activities that matter to them.
